Tattoos: Tat-ewwww!

I've got to say and although it is a controversial opinion, I hate tattoos. I personally do not see a reason why people find it necassary for them to cover themselves in this awful ink! And recently within our society and culture the popularity of tattoos is at it's highest, the more the better and the bigger better!
Perhaps it can be blamed on certain figures in the public eye who have covered themselves more and more with tattoos in recent years. For example, David Beckham has openly admitted that he addicted to the pain/thrill of getting tattoos.
Celebrities tend to glamourise tattoos and they tend to become more a fashion accessories nowadays. I'm sure that half the girls that have had the same tattoo as Cheryl Cole on their hand will regret it by the time they're 60 & they're not so fashionable then!

I can see that some tattoos can look tasteful, and I do understand that some can actually hold meaning. However, although people 'live for today' therefore choose a tattoo that they like at that current time, somehow having your current boyfriends name and then splitting up with them a few years later can only make you feel a bit stupid for having the tattoo in the first place. Thus, I don't ever see the point in putting yourself in pain only to regret or dislike it later on in time.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattoo Wikipedia use the term decorative use to explain as to why people have them. Although they do decorate your skin, and can look attractive I do feel that severe thought is needed before someone goes on the needle and labels themselves with ink for potentially, forever.
