Abortion :(
As a catholic girl, I have been raised to inevitably disagree with abortions. Although I am aware that in some situations it may be deemed as 'the only way out', I only ever view the use of abortion as murder of an innocent life. It is taking the life of someone who is unable to plead their innocence and their right to life. I cannot preach and say that God is the person that gives life and therefore he is the only one that can take it, because I am not rigid in my Catholic beliefs entirely. However, I do not see why people deem it acceptable to freely have un-protected sex left, right and centre and then kill a life they have created. People ought to be responsible for the actions they have taken and thus the consequences to these actions! It is unfair that people use abortions as a form of contraception even, as opposed to the decent people that want a baby so much but mother nature and medical help cannot create a life they so badly want.
Although I do understand in cases, where perhaps a young teenage girl falls pregnant and facing motherhood at such a young age can be extremely daunting and that a girl is not emotionally ready for the responsiblity of its own child when they're a child themselves. Or even, if a woman has been raped and has fallen pregnant and has to raise a child from such a horrific instance it can cause great amounts of heartache.
It is a subject that does actually have two sides it, both of which are very sad. However personally, I think there are ways round obstacles in life nowadays without having to refer to abortion as the first answer. For example, many teenage mums now juggle looking after their children and still being educated and gaining qualifications that are vital, in order to get a job nowadays.
I think that if anyone is faced in that situation and they are considering having a termination they should put some serious thought into it, it's so easy to google it and seek advice or help whilst considering it. http://www.bpas.org/bpaswoman. Remember, whatever you do now whether its irrational or otherwise, you could regret it later in life!
