The cheating Society & the lies within it.

To define the term 'truth' from the Oxford English Dictionary would tell us: 'The character of being, or disposition to be, true to a person, principle, cause, etc.; faithfulness, fidelity, loyalty, constancy, steadfast allegiance.'
However, how far do each and everyone of us fulfill the true meaning of this word?
Do we tell little porkie pies or are we pathological liers? I think there's a difference between telling your girlfriend her bum doesn't look big in that new dress and covering up an affair from your wife and mother of your children.

However as a nineteen year old growing up in this society cheating and lying is just something that occurs every day and nine times out of ten nobody even bats an eye lid about it. Personally I think this attitude that we have is one that can only lead to even worse behaviour in future years. Lies can ruin relationships, marriages, careers and even peoples lives. Yet people who are permanently in the public eye and are even said to be role models do not lead people by their good example. For instance within weeks of one another 2 chelsea players were exposed as love rats, and as for Terry being England captain he should have focused on his game rather than being a player!Ha. This behaviour is not exceptable but for some reason this kind of news appears in the papers for a week and is forgotten the next. This is an example of the morals that people have nowadays and a reflection of how far people can actually get away with their bad behaviour!

When is there a time going to come when there can be excuses made for lying and cheating? I don't think that that time will be coming any time soon, however I just hope that younger people than myself can recognise the difference between right and wrong and determine that lying in the long run can only lead to negative effects. Otherwise the next generation to come will lead to more cheating england captions, television presenters and world champion golf players.
