Reply to Soph's blog on 'BARMY ARMY!'
http://sophiesblogjls.blogspot.com/2010/05/barmy-armyyyyyyyyyyyyy.html
Having previously been a season ticket holder myself at the Wolves I feel the same as Soph about match days. I used to go with my Dad and enjoyed the whole experience, it was a day out, I loved the atmosphere there as much as the match itself.
It's a thrilling feeling to watch your team win however I've never seen the point in fighting over it, eg. The Subway Army.
Notorious footballs 'firms' make the fighting just as important as the match itself, and scenarios like this are glamourised in films today, for example 'The Firm'.
Therefore films such as this or 'The Football Factory' tend to encourage people to get involved with the hooliganism with their local teams.
Soph also explains how a young child is pictured swearing, this is NOT uncommon at Molineux! And to be honest, you can't blame the kids for their behaviour with all their swearing and ranting parents around them, they will automatically assume that this is the right/normal way to behave at a football match. Infact, as a young Wolves fan, I was raised to hate West Brom! I didn't ask why or anything I just did because everyone did. Still nowadays I get involved with all the swearing in the chants at the matches, not that I condone swearing but some chants are quite funny and patriarchal!
Since my Dad died I haven't been to a match, I suppose that going to the match with my Dad was one of the most important things to me about match days, and seens as he's not here anymore I don't feel right going without him.
Football is more than a game to some people, it's about fighting, or having some father-daughter time. More importantly it's about backing your local club!

HOMOPHOBIA...
''Homophobia is a range of negative attitudes and feelings towards homosexuality and people identified or perceived as being homosexual.'' This sentence taken from Wikipedia defines the term homophobia. Although it does define or explain why people are homophobic. Perhaps it's because of their religion? Like the episodes of eastenders we've all seen recently with Christian and Syed. Or is it because God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Arthur? Personally I don't care what your sexual preference is, as long as you don't throw it in my face. In saying that, that doesn't mean I don't want straight couples snogging right infront of me either, there's a time and a place for that kind of behaviour and I think they call it behind doors! I don't really understand why homophobia is still present in our society today, I think that people ought to be a little bit more broad minded about this kind of situation. People haven't just suddenly become gay! It's become more acceptable, for example I'm sure Brighton's meant to be the gay capital of our country?! Drag queens, lesbians, sex shops, the lot.People embrace their sexuality and there is no reason why they shouldn't.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2008/apr/01/equality.gayrights
This article explains how gay people assume that they will be treated differently by public services. However there is no reason as to why they ought to be treated differently. I'd rather a gay person get good health care than an illegal immigrant!
I feel a bit scared to say how I feel about this issue because I don't want to offend anyone that is gay or bisexual-because really I have no problems with gay people. Homophobes need to realise this is the 21st century and equality is more important now more than ever, no matter how old you are, what colour you are or what sexual preference you have.

Shopping: My reply to steph!
http://misshadley-stephyyyy.blogspot.com/2010/05/shopping.html
Shopping! I absolutely love it, Steph knows this and I totally emphathise with how she suffers from being a shopaholic! I have recently opened up a Topshop card which I know has the potential to clear out my bank balance but I am hoping to be quite sensible with it and pay it off regularly.
However I totally agree that Shopping can make or break the mood that I'm in, having sat through a three hour lecture nipping into town for a bit of retail therapy can really cheer me up. On the other hand, if I go shopping with my money burning a hole in my pocket and I don't find anything I'll have a vile temper on me- just ask my boyfriend! Ha.
However, if I lucky enough to own a Louis Vuitton bag I would NEVER let topshop convince to me spend all my money leaving me to sell my beautiful bag to get money! Although me and my best friend have put all our old clothes together to sell on a carboot, to make room in our wardrobes and make some money. However, getting up early on a sunday morning as yet to happen.
I love shopping but I do think it's being bad, infact it's being naughty!

My reply to Emily's blog on Incest.
http://mrsbrightsideemilyyy.blogspot.com/2010/04/incest.html
Having read Em's blog about incest I do feel a bit freaked out to be honest, to think that some people 'experiment' with their sexuality with their siblings is vile!
I'm speaking as an only child so I can safely say that I have never had an urge to 'play' with my non-existent siblings, in saying that I haven't felt an attraction to any other of my family members. Hence my utter disgust in reading about the case of Josef Fritzl.
How ironic as I'm writing this 'I'm having a baby with my Gran' is a headline in The Sun newspaper! Perhaps incest is more common than originally thought, as do the articles in Emily's blog do suggest.
My boyfriend has got a younger sister, and thankfully for me he doesn't feel any physical attraction towards her!
Perhaps Freud's Oedipus Complex is a theory that encourages siblings or parents to embrace their attraction to their family member. But then again it's not something I or Emily know about therefore we're just disgusted by the issue in general.

Nasty Comedians!
I'm sure that if you class yourself as comedian you're meant to be funny, now if you're being nasty how is that funny? It's commonly known that it is really quite hilarious taking the mick out of people! For being fat, hairy, having a lisp, being a freak, or just simply making a joke out of things you do in every day life. Take Peter Kay for instance, he is not nasty in any way whatsoever and one of the UK's biggest (literally ha!) and best comedians. Then you've got comedians on the other end of the scale, such as Chubby Brown. He constantly swears, he's racist and vulgar so why would anyone find his banter remotely funny? Well people do! Don't get me wrong, I'm more of an Alan Carr kind of girl. Being that camp with those teeth is already hilarious without him prancing about or telling any jokes.
http://www.comedy-zone.net/standup/index.htm
If you research comedians on the internet you begin to see what a vast scale of comedians there are. However, with so many types of comedy out there, there obviously is a rather dark side to comedy that arises also. Racism and sexism are not necassary to be featured within comedy performances. Ergo the people that find such issues funny ought to be ashamed!
This has been a bit of a short blog to be honest, but I just do not see the need to give these 'nasty comedians' anymore publicity because they're simply not funny & ought to find another day job!
Years ago, comedians such as Tommy Cooper but on silly voices to make their audiences laugh not make fun of the colour of someones skin or what sex they are.
I probably am guilty of laughing at some cruel jokes, for example when you get jokes sent through to your phone about features on the news. However that is slightly different to being just nasty about people all in the name of comedy!

under age sex!
The law states that having sex under the age of 16 is illegal within our country.
How many do you know that are either underage and having sex or were underage when they first started having sex? Well I could name a few without even trying. However, I can't exactly see why this rule even exists. I'm sure that there are worse things in the world than two people having sex. However, I think it is important that young people should feel 100% ready before they even consider losing their virginity whether they're under 16 or otherwise. It is a big step to take and can make changes to you physically and mentally.I regret having sex for the first time at the age I did, but more because of who it was with not because of how old I was. This can demonstrate that when you are younger you're more likely to make rash decisions that you may regret when you're older. Perhaps if you do wait until you're at least sixteen you may be more comfortable with yourself and confident and therefore don't feel as though you need to lose virgintiy. Ergo you'll sleep with someone that you are sure will make it memorable for all the right reasons. Rather than being a silly fourteen year old who just 'did it' because everyone seems to be doing it! Infact I think I might have contradicted myself whilst writing this blog! I must admit though, I do believe that people young should try and wait until they're old enough and feel responsible to have sex. If they feel comfortable and have strong feelings for a particular person before the age of 16 then nobody should stop them. However perhaps the law is a guidline then does suggest that people may have a more mature sentiment surrounding sex at the age of 16. Although you cannot control your feelings no matter what age you are. The most important point surrounding this issue is the fact that no matter how old you are, you should always practice safe sex! It constantly appears within the news and papers that children are becoming parents to their own children more and more every year! If you're ready to have sex, you need to be ready with something on the end of it!

Pornography...
Porn is not something that I'm familiar with, I even had to ask my boyfriend the name of a famous pornstar to google an image just for this blog. To be perfectly honest, although I know most people have watched, masturbated over it or even taken part in it,I think porn's disgusting. I don't get turned on over it and I don't condone the behaviour of girls and men within the porn industry. Sluts aren't my personal preference therefore that's probably the reason it doesn't turn me on (even though I'm probably the only person in the world.) Why is it sexy to watch other people behaving in a filthy manner? I find it funny that most lads my age are partial to a bit of pornography, until the mention of gay porn, then that's a different kettle of fish! It's still the same principle, people having full frontal sex being filmed and being paid for it.
The thing that I find most shocking is, most forms of pornography are so easily available nowadays. For instance, if you go on google and type in porn, a list of 197,000,000 porn sites are available at the click of a button!
This not only demonstrates how easy porn is to access but that your nine year old little brother could be having a sneaky look at what porn has to offer! As they say, 'Once you kill a cow, you gotta make a burger'. I suppose you could say there's no harm in watching a bit of pornography, especially as it is so easy to access. However, the thought of watching two lesbians with huge boobs does not float my boat! Furthermore, I despise the girls that class themselves as 'porn stars'. I personally believe that there is a huge difference between being slutty and sexy, and performing oral sex on one man whilst having anal sex with another is NOT sexy!
Although I must admit, it is each to their own after all but the thought of watching other people have sex turns my stomach!

Drink Driving!
To drink and drive is the most ridiculous thing someone could ever do. I've got to say, I have had an accident in my car and it was awful. Having said that I was on the way home from my boyfriends on a saturday afternoon & had not had a drink at all and I cannot stress how quickly and easy it happened- without being under the influence. I went straight into the back of someone else's car as my car skidded down a bridge, it was impossible for me to stop the car moving on the slippy road, after the car infront briefly flashed its break lights as it stopped suddenly. I was absolutely riddled with guilt that I'd done it, although it was my car that worse off. served me right? Anyway, there is absolutely no excuse for someone to justify getting behind the wheel after downing a few pints. The sad thing is, so many people do it without considering how irresponsible they're actually being. I'm so dopey I can't even say that I feel completelty in control over my car all the time. The fact is as much I love my brum brum, now I know the damage it can cause, I do get afraid of being on the road sometimes, not so much how I drive but other drivers.
At the end of the day, it's not hard to leave your car at home when you know you're going out on the razz. Or to even leave your car at your mates/the pub and get a taxi home when you're feeling a bit tipsy. It's not just the fact you're risking getting arrested or losing your license, you could seriously harm yourself and other people on the road. The limit on drink driving is so low, you may aswell not bother at all. I'd rather get a taxi then risk my license or my sexy car!
If you drive at twice the legal alcohol limit you are at least 30 times more likely to cause a road crash, than a driver who hasn't been drinking.

Tannin'ell- SUNBEDS
Ok, I absolutely love sunbeds! I don't care what the risks are of skin cancer, or if they'll make my skin leathery by the time I'm 30. I LOVE them, I think having a tan is the best feeling in the world. Clothes look better when you're tanned, it makes me feel happier, I even feel thinner with a tan! And not just sunbeds, who wants to go on holiday and come back as pale as christmas? Nobody! Everyone's proud of their white bits when they get back from a week or two abroad. Although I am aware that using sunbeds, and being exposed in the sun alot can heighten my chances of getting skin cancer. Alot of my family have had cancer and recovered and my dad even died of cancer so chances would say I'll probably get it anyway! So I think why not? It saves me the hassle of having to put tan on repeatedly and smelling of potatos, and it look a bit healthier.
Celebrities are on the cover of our magazines, doing television interviews and adverts looking tangoed! So it's only natural that people follow in their footsteps. Although I do understand that people do not agree with the use of sunbeds I'm not stupid in doing so. I always ensure that I put cream on my body before I go on and always wear goggles to protect my eyes. All in all, I know it may harm me or heighten my chances of cancer, but I could get cancer from doing nothing wrong at all. So for now, I'll continue using them to make myself look and feel better.
I might even consider buying one for my house... http://www.riosuntanning.co.uk/?gclid=CKLlw8qjm6ECFVls4wodW0k4OA

Reply to Soph's blog on Domestic Violence!
http://sophiesblogjls.blogspot.com/2010/05/domestic-abuse.html
I've got to agree with soph, I have never been involved in domestic violence nor could I ever imagine being involved in. Although I do feel like smacking my boyfriend when he's a bit too cheeky for my liking!
Having said that, before in love with someone that's hurting you mentally or phyiscally must be the worst thing in the world. You'd obviously love them too much to either realise what they're doing is wrong or to stop making excuses for their behaviour and have the power to leave them. I'm sure that being in that situation is easier said then done.
The domestic violence case concerning Rihanna and Chris Brown was heavily featured within the media and I've got to admit although he should not have hit her at all, there are worse cases of domestic violence than this. For example, it could involve rape, repeated violence and mental abuse.
Although Chris Brown did try and justify his actions by explaining that his father had previously been violent at home years ago and this why he behaved in a such manor. Soph did say that people are responsible for their own actions and that there is no excuse for such behaviour. However, although I am definetely not condoing his violent behaviour, the fact that he became used to such behaviour when growing up may be an underlying reason as to why he reacted in this way when arguing with Rihanna.
To contradict myself, if I were arguing with my boyfriend and he got so angry that he lashed out and hit me I can't say that I wouldn't have a go back!
Then this would make me as bad as him, therefore domestic violenc as a whole can become a vicious circle!

Lyrics: My reply to Emily.
http://mrsbrightsideemilyyy.blogspot.com/2010/04/lyrics.html
Emily's blog on the use of lyrics really interested me, I've never really taken much notice of the content of songs I just tend to bop about to them! However, description of sex, violcence, swearing seem to be every day song lyrics! It's not very often that you can't find a 'radio edit' of songs and the 'uncensored' version.
I also have to agree with the point Em made about 'ndubz', some of the explicit lyrics that they include really are not necassary.
I'm sure 50 years ago that artists were singing about the white cliffs of Dover, not describing a womans genitals! Infact, I wonder what made music transform and involve into such FILTH?!
Morever, if I was a famous singer let's just say I'd be a little more than embarassed to sing about a bloke taking me home from a club to have sex with me! However, in Emily's blog she makes a very important point: SEX SELLS! Perhaps such bands like ndubz would not be half as well known as they are without there controversial lyrics. After all, their lyrics must be the reason they're so popular... besides being featured in a tabloid paper in a picture taking methadone.
I don't really see why sex or violence need to be rapped or sang about to be honest, but perhaps we should blame the 60's for its 'sex, drugs and rock & roll' attitude that has been carried forth into the music of today!

Binge Drinking..
Binge drinking is something that is a supposed 'huge problem' in our country in 2010. Young people are the main contributers to this problem and if I'm bein honest I think that there are worse things going on than people having a few too many to drink. I'm sure that if you asked your parents and even grandparents they will recall going out on a friday/saturday night and drinking a few too many and doing things they wouldn't normally have done without a drink inside them. However it is today that people are meant to be ashamed of their 'binge drinking', although in actual fact it has been going on many years before now. Although I do admit that perhaps, the amount that people drink has grown over the years and their behaviour when drunk has dramatically changed. For example violence between young lads when they've had a pint or ten in town on a saturday night has dramatically increased. I do not condone this kind of violent behaviour and I'm quite glad that there are so many bouncers and police within our towns on the weekend to ensure the safety of other innocent party-goers.
At the same time, if students that work hard or people that work hard all week want to go out at the weekend I don't see why it is such a big thing. In saying that, although it is important to enjoy yourself and be safe whilst drinking alcohol it is eqaually important that you drink responsibly. Thus, it can prevent accidents from happening, violence from occuring and also from losing your dignity.
Some may claim that binge drinking can have another series side: addiction. However, if you or if someone you know seems to be drinking more than you should on a regular basis then it's so easy to find help before you're caught in the trap!

infidelity!
Infidelity is such a sad issue, but such a large one that is now common within our society. People can commit infidelity in so many ways, physically, mentally or even just on the computer nowadays! It has become so easy for people to cheat on one another. There is even a website that has been created specifically for married/taken people to flirt with one another or even take things to a more physical level. This is encouraging people to actually cheat on their loved one, which can have devastating effects within couples or families.
http://www.maritalaffair.co.uk/ It's so easy to search for dating sites such as this one for married people and this is partly to blame as to why people find it so easy to cheat on their partners.
In the eyes of the Christian Church it is actually a sin to commit adultery/infidelity, however this does not cross the mind of 'bored' partners who are looking for more excitement in their lives. Perhaps, this can be blamed by how 'normal' infidelity can be classed as nowadays. For example, 30 years ago it was rare that parents split up and remarried leaving their children with step-parents. However today, most families have been split and have remarried and nobody considers how such acts as infidelity can cause such distruction within families that can also have strong negative effects on the mind set of children.

Abortion :(
As a catholic girl, I have been raised to inevitably disagree with abortions. Although I am aware that in some situations it may be deemed as 'the only way out', I only ever view the use of abortion as murder of an innocent life. It is taking the life of someone who is unable to plead their innocence and their right to life. I cannot preach and say that God is the person that gives life and therefore he is the only one that can take it, because I am not rigid in my Catholic beliefs entirely. However, I do not see why people deem it acceptable to freely have un-protected sex left, right and centre and then kill a life they have created. People ought to be responsible for the actions they have taken and thus the consequences to these actions! It is unfair that people use abortions as a form of contraception even, as opposed to the decent people that want a baby so much but mother nature and medical help cannot create a life they so badly want.
Although I do understand in cases, where perhaps a young teenage girl falls pregnant and facing motherhood at such a young age can be extremely daunting and that a girl is not emotionally ready for the responsiblity of its own child when they're a child themselves. Or even, if a woman has been raped and has fallen pregnant and has to raise a child from such a horrific instance it can cause great amounts of heartache.
It is a subject that does actually have two sides it, both of which are very sad. However personally, I think there are ways round obstacles in life nowadays without having to refer to abortion as the first answer. For example, many teenage mums now juggle looking after their children and still being educated and gaining qualifications that are vital, in order to get a job nowadays.
I think that if anyone is faced in that situation and they are considering having a termination they should put some serious thought into it, it's so easy to google it and seek advice or help whilst considering it. http://www.bpas.org/bpaswoman. Remember, whatever you do now whether its irrational or otherwise, you could regret it later in life!

Tattoos: Tat-ewwww!
I've got to say and although it is a controversial opinion, I hate tattoos. I personally do not see a reason why people find it necassary for them to cover themselves in this awful ink! And recently within our society and culture the popularity of tattoos is at it's highest, the more the better and the bigger better!
Perhaps it can be blamed on certain figures in the public eye who have covered themselves more and more with tattoos in recent years. For example, David Beckham has openly admitted that he addicted to the pain/thrill of getting tattoos.
Celebrities tend to glamourise tattoos and they tend to become more a fashion accessories nowadays. I'm sure that half the girls that have had the same tattoo as Cheryl Cole on their hand will regret it by the time they're 60 & they're not so fashionable then!
I can see that some tattoos can look tasteful, and I do understand that some can actually hold meaning. However, although people 'live for today' therefore choose a tattoo that they like at that current time, somehow having your current boyfriends name and then splitting up with them a few years later can only make you feel a bit stupid for having the tattoo in the first place. Thus, I don't ever see the point in putting yourself in pain only to regret or dislike it later on in time.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattoo Wikipedia use the term decorative use to explain as to why people have them. Although they do decorate your skin, and can look attractive I do feel that severe thought is needed before someone goes on the needle and labels themselves with ink for potentially, forever.

My reply to Steph's blog on Incest!
http://misshadley-stephyyyy.blogspot.com/2010/03/hygiene.html
Well, I can't say I entirely agree with Steph when she classes 'lack' of hygiene as bad behaviour! But I do think it's gross and just lazy! It takes probably less than a minute to wash your hand properly to kill any bacteria on your hands that may have been passed on from your bum!
It is not just for the benefit of other people, like Steph says you never want to touch the door handle after someone who hasn't washed their hands. But it is also for your own basic hygiene. For example, if you wipe your bum and then bite your nails not only is this is a horrible thought you may also be passing bacteria around your body that may cause infections and viruses, all because you couldn't be arsed to whack a bit of soap and water on your hands!
Steph is right in saying that when there was a Swine Flu epidemic people did start to take their hygiene more seriously but since that they died off a little I'm sure that people have started to become more and more lazy and don't see the harm in not washing their hands after they've been to the toilet.

Hi Drugs
Well, the topic of drugs is never going to be something that I'm entirely interested in. I think that people that take them are stupid, although I can understand the need for the buzz I can't help but pity those addicts on hardcore drugs. I don't see how people would sacrifice their homes, jobs, all of their money just to get a 'fix'.I can understand how awful it must actually be to feel addiction to something that is blatently so bad for your body and welfare, well actually I can't seens as I've never experienced it. But, with all of the negative effects that drugs can give and how much exposure these terrible side effects are I do not see why people are still willing to try certain drugs and risk addiction.
However, we all know that people are willing to risk the bad effects that drugs carry, but what is the reason for this? Some people may argue 'everyone seems to be taking them so what's the harm, nothing happens to them' but everyone is different, thus everyones reaction to drugs is different. Or is it cool to do drugs nowadays? Well, I don't particularly feel like it's cool to take them and don't feel encouraged to take them by anything or anyone.
The recreational use of drugs has been present within our country for hundreds of years and there seems to be no evidence that drug taking will be reducing any time soon. Although people are aware how they can affect your health and disrupt your lifestyle, perhaps ignorance plays an essential role in why people disregard the awful truth surrounding what drugs can do. However, television can also be blamed for perhaps making drugs seem more 'glamorous' than they actually are. For example, shows like Skins demonstrate the highs and lows of drug use, however the 'lower' points of drug use do not deter people using them, of all ages.
Although I am aware that some people do not use drugs for recreational use & actually for their health, on the whole I do not condone drug use.
http://www.talktofrank.com/ There is alot of help available nowadays to help people with their addictions and there is alot more of awareness of the damage they can create. But, having seen how often they have been used for many many years I very much doubt that the number of drug takers will fall any time soon.

Masturbation.
'Masturbation: the primary sexual activity of mankind. In the 19th Century It was a disease: in the 20th Century, it's a cure'- Thomas Szaz.
How far is masturbation considered a part of every day life nowadays? There is very little mention of it but everyone seems to be doing it! If there is any representation of it within a film or television, it is seen as shameful or comical. However, although it was originally seen as 'self harm' in the 18th Century, it is now considered to be a natural thing and there is said to be no harm in it. Sigmund Freud said masturbation is 'our first act of sexual behaviour' and seens as many people have sex every single day, it would be obvious that this kind of behaviour had to start somewhere.
Evidence of the act of masturbation goes all the way back to Ancient Egypt, but the act itself I'm sure takes place under roofs all over the place! Even though I've presented a few random facts about masturbation it's common knowledge that most people age actually love doing it! But I have got to say that it's more boys than girls that are interested in it. These days everyones keens to see what this 'wanking' malarks about, yet if someone actually called you a 'wanker' it's offensive, this is something that will always confuse me. If someone freely masturbates and tells people about it I don't get why they would be mad as they were referred to as a 'wanker'. Although to contradict myself if I were referred to as that I'd be more than upset, even though it is typically a male phrase.
href="http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/sex_relationships/facts/masturbationwomen.htm">
I don't personally see the harm in masturbation, but I do think that it's a matter that ought to be kept private. Although some people have misconceptions about it and say 'it'll make you blind' or 'it'll fall off' if it can help or encourage your sexual knowledge and confidence then people should feel free... especially if it might put a smile on your face! haha.

BAD CINEMA.
Well, I'm not exactly sure where to start with the film we watched to represent 'Bad cinema. The 1995 film 'Kids' was described as 'the most important film of the year' at the time it was released, however it's importance was dashed with the controversy over it's rating and it's content. Issues such as drug use, HIV, other STI's and underage sex are minor issues today in comparison to the 15 years ago when the film was released. However I must admit I did find some scenes more than disturbing, to be exposed to a rape scene is shocking enough but the amount of time that scene lasted was completely unesscary and had my belly churning! Yet, although there were a number of times I was actually cringing I actually believe that that was the effect that the producer was aiming for. It's not the most comfortable idea to think of a teenage boy deliberately seeking virgins in order to 'de flower' them, but we all of course it's a matter that occurs every day.
A question that would be difficult to answer would be, which age range was the film actually aimed at? Some would say that the film is clearly of an adult nature and therefore it represents to adults the intentions of young people and how they behave. Others may disagree and suggest it is directed toward younger people to demonstrate 'bad' behaviour of young people and the conesequences of their actions, therefore it should be used as a detterent. For example, telly the main character, unknowingly goes around sleeping with a number of girls unprotected and infecting them with HIV. Although it was inevitable that the character of 'Jenny', who was the one girl out of the group who hadn't slept around, would be diagnosed with an STI rather than the other more 'promiscuous' friend. There was a clear moral to the story though, some people will go around and do what they want, when they want not considering the consequences in later life. In sleeping with so many girls, one person managed to infect at least 3 other people, and this is the kind of issue that is ever present in real life.
Some women in the lecture were discussing how they were going to show their young daughters this film when they reached the age of ten to really show them what boys are like! However, I think that this would may lead to long lasting physcological damage. (haha) Although, this film should be an example that opens the eyes of young people and encourage safe sex and even waiting until you feel old enough and ready. This film tackles a number of issues; underage sex, rape, drugs, theft. Yet what is also important to remember is that the film had a distinct lack of parental guidance.I personally believe that this represents how far things can go without the aid of a good role model in your life when you are growing up in your teen years.
The way in which issues were tackled went well within the flow of the film, however to endure the length of the rape scene was extremely uncomfortable. Yet we must remember that as awful as it may be to see in a film, the actual occurence of rape would be a million times worse.
To end my rant about this I must admit I enjoyed the film in parts and I do believe that it is a good representation of 'kids' although I'm not sure how a boy that looked like 'Tilly' could actually get that many girls!

Smoking!
Smoking is an ever present statistical debate of today. To some people it is a force of habit, whereas others see it as more of a fashion accessory. However do people see the dangers behind that stick of tobacco? Furthermore is the real reason as to why so many people smoke due to the ignorance of people today? It is widely known that smoking is a key contributor to lung cancer and Smokers actually pay £19'000 a minute to the Exchequer, which is enough to pay for the whole Police Force.
Smoking is at it's highest within the 20-34 age group, yet it is common knowledge that people much younger are smoking regardless of the recently changed age restriction, from 16 to 18.
Smoking in general tends to fall within four categories; regualar smokers, occasional smokers, those who have given up and those who have never smoked. However the rise and fall in the number of smokers may actually be due to the changes within society. Yet, the rising or falling numbers appear oblivious to the help that is avaialable to those who actually smoke to quit! The NHS actively encourage smokers to quit with free help packs, thus this can only have a positive effect for those that do actually manage to permanently give up.

Websites like this can only be a good help, however people can only take the available help if they have the will power and recognise that their health will dramatically improve without the nicotine within their body.
Yet smoking is strongly socially acceptable and appears within television and film every day, advertisements like this are a way in which people do not regard smoking as a danger or even consider that it can effect the way they smell. Never mind having to stand outside in the cold when you go to the pub for a drink and a fag!

The cheating Society & the lies within it.
To define the term 'truth' from the Oxford English Dictionary would tell us: 'The character of being, or disposition to be, true to a person, principle, cause, etc.; faithfulness, fidelity, loyalty, constancy, steadfast allegiance.'
However, how far do each and everyone of us fulfill the true meaning of this word?
Do we tell little porkie pies or are we pathological liers? I think there's a difference between telling your girlfriend her bum doesn't look big in that new dress and covering up an affair from your wife and mother of your children.
However as a nineteen year old growing up in this society cheating and lying is just something that occurs every day and nine times out of ten nobody even bats an eye lid about it. Personally I think this attitude that we have is one that can only lead to even worse behaviour in future years. Lies can ruin relationships, marriages, careers and even peoples lives. Yet people who are permanently in the public eye and are even said to be role models do not lead people by their good example. For instance within weeks of one another 2 chelsea players were exposed as love rats, and as for Terry being England captain he should have focused on his game rather than being a player!Ha. This behaviour is not exceptable but for some reason this kind of news appears in the papers for a week and is forgotten the next. This is an example of the morals that people have nowadays and a reflection of how far people can actually get away with their bad behaviour!

When is there a time going to come when there can be excuses made for lying and cheating? I don't think that that time will be coming any time soon, however I just hope that younger people than myself can recognise the difference between right and wrong and determine that lying in the long run can only lead to negative effects. Otherwise the next generation to come will lead to more cheating england captions, television presenters and world champion golf players.
